Savor the Flavor: Best Venison Marinade Recipe for a Mouthwatering Meal

Welcome to our culinary corner where we explore the art of creating a delectable meal with a twist - venison marinade. Venison, known for its unique flavor, can be elevated with the right combination of ingredients in a marinade. In this post, we will share a tried-and-tested venison marinade recipe that will leave your taste buds singing. This is our “go to” marinade for most of our wild game that we harvest in Wyoming.

Venison Marinade made with red wine, cloves of garlic and other spices.

The Best Venison Marinade Recipe:

Ingredients:

- 1 cup soy sauce
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp paprika

Optional: juice of half a lemon or 1/4 cup of red wine

Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, thyme, and paprika.
2. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
3. Place the venison in a resealable bag or container and pour the marinade over it.
4. Ensure the venison is coated evenly with the marinade.
5. Seal the bag or container and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight for enhanced flavor.

Why This Venison Marinade Rocks:

- The soy sauce adds depth and umami flavor to the venison.
- Olive oil helps tenderize the meat and retain moisture.
- Worcestershire sauce provides a tangy kick.
- Honey balances the flavors and adds a touch of sweetness.
- Garlic, black pepper, thyme, and paprika create a harmonious blend of aromas and tastes.

Depending on the cut of meat you can marinade up to 8 hours or overnight. If you are marinading venison burger, I would go up to two hours maximum. If you are short on time then 30 minutes will work just fine. I usually go for the two hour mark for the best flavor and tenderness. I also add the red wine each time, however, I love having a good Cabernet or Merlot open to go with dinner anyway, especially while cooking.

Prepare to Elevate

Prepare to elevate your venison dishes with this delectable marinade recipe. Whether you're grilling, roasting, or pan-searing your venison, this marinade will take your culinary creations to a whole new level of deliciousness. Impress your guests, family, or simply treat yourself to a flavorsome meal with this sensational venison marinade.

Give it a try and then come back and tell me what you think. Did you like it? Was the flavor good? How did you cook it? And did you add the wine?
